Check out an appointment
Take payment and complete the appointment in one flow.
Checkout is how an appointment gets paid and marked completed — the two always happen together, which keeps your revenue records honest.
The flow
- Open the appointment on the Today tab and tap Checkout.
- Review the charges. The service price is there; any deposit the client already paid is applied automatically, so the amount due is only what's left.
- Add anything extra:
- a tip (quick percentages or a custom amount),
- a discount or comp — see Tips, discounts, and comps,
- retail products the client is buying — see Sell retail products.
- Pick how they're paying: enter a card, charge their saved card on file, or record Cash, Zelle, PayPal, or Venmo.
- Charge. You'll see a confirmation with the total, tip, and method, the appointment is marked completed, and the client gets a receipt by email.
On the dashboard
You can also check out from the dashboard calendar — the dashboard checkout additionally accepts gift card redemption; see Gift cards.
Good to know
- If the total works out to $0 (say, a comped visit or fully covered by deposit), checkout still completes the appointment — it just charges nothing.
- Card payments require Stripe to be connected; recording cash/Zelle/PayPal/Venmo works regardless.
- Something went wrong mid-payment? See Payment failed at checkout.
