Sell a digital download
Sell one file, a PDF or a video, with no lessons. Buyers get it from their email link or their account, and you can take access away.
A download is one file you sell on its own: a guide, a template, a recorded workshop. There are no lessons. Buyers pay once and download the file.
Creating a download
- On the dashboard, open Courses and click New download.
- Give it a title, a description and a price (and a sale price if you like), then click Save.
- Under File, click Upload file and choose your file. The File card shows the types and sizes you can upload right now: PDFs, and soon videos (MP4 or MOV) up to 500 MB. A video can take a few minutes; keep the page open until the upload finishes.
- Click Publish. A download can't be published until its file is uploaded.
To change the file, click Replace file. Buyers get the new file from then on.
If an upload doesn't finish (say you close the page partway), nothing is saved and the partial file is deleted within two days. You can start up to 20 uploads an hour.
What buyers get
After paying, the buyer gets an email with their personal link. The link opens a page with a Download your file button. The file is also in their account at milabook.com/account.
Each click makes a fresh link that works for a few minutes, so a copied link soon stops working. A buyer can download the file up to 20 times a day.
Refunds and taking access away
If you refund a download in full, the buyer's access ends: their link no longer downloads the file. A partial refund leaves access as it is. If you had already taken access away with a note, your note is kept and "Refunded" is added next to it. You can give access back from the buyer's row on the download's Students tab.
A buyer whose access ended can't buy the same download again. If they want it back, give access back from the Students tab.
You can also take access away without a refund, the same way as for a course.
A file someone has already downloaded stays on their device. Taking access away stops new downloads, not copies already made.
